Maintenance of fire extinguishers pursuant to UNI 9994

Maintenance of fire extinguishers pursuant to UNI 9994, inspection (at least every six months) and other maintenance activities (overall and acceptance test) are performed by specialist technicians.

Disposal of powder 

Disposal of extinguishing powder shall be performed in accordance with current legislation and a Certificate of Disposal shall be issued to certify correct disposal. If the extinguishing powder is not changed every three years the extinguisher will be unsafe and no longer compliant with the safety Standards.

Choice of portable fire extinguishers

The choice of portable fire extinguishers shall be made as a function of the fire class and risk level at the work place pursuant to Ministerial Decree of 20/03/1998.

Never try to save money on extinguishers!

Given the same class always choose a branded extinguisher made from high quality raw materials and with the greatest capacity in weight, and not according to the extinguishing class. Remember that a 12kg extinguisher (55A233BC) is worth at least 3 to 6 kg (34A233BC)
